Helen’s teaching aims to nurture environments for creative sharing in dance through the contexts of Release-based techniques, Choreography and Improvisation, underpinned by the practice and philosophy of Irmgard Bartenieff.

Classes focus on exploring efficiency in movement; heightening sensory awareness through improvisation before progressing to play-through more multi-directional and dynamic movement material.  Classes are accessible for all with pace and complexity determined by individuals within each class and progression within each class is developmentally aligned with the practice of Bartenieff Fundamentals.

Middlesex University London

A one-day workshop beginning with a 2hr release-based technique class, underpinned by her practice of Bartenieff Fundamentals, leading into an afternoon of delving more deeply into Helen's latest performance work, ‘whispers’. The afternoon’s workshop will use improvisation as a way to encounter space, objects and each other through moving relationships with touch and text.
